{I Will} Dean and Sarah ~ Montgomery, Alabama Engagement Photographer

I’ve known Dean and Sarah for a few years, now and they are some seriously super awesome people.

When Dean proposed, they asked me to take their engagement photos…and you know I was thrilled!

It’s such a happy thing to see them happy and in love…and I was beyond excited to capture this moment-in-time for them.

We went to one of their favorite places and wandered around, taking photographs in the beautiful, unseasonably cool weather.  Honestly, we couldn’t have had a prettier day!

Dean and Sarah are so funny together…their sense of humor is great and it’s clear they will have a marriage that’s full of laughter and happiness.

Dean’s son came along for the ride {this is his favorite park, too – there are ducks and turtles galore} and I sneaked in a few photos of him as well.  I love to see the father-son bond in these two.  Sarah is one lucky girl!

And, Sarah is also one very, very lovely person – both inside and out!

Dean and Sarah, this is an exciting time for you and I’m so happy for you both! I pray you will have plenty of laughter and happiness throughout your life together!  <3

{Sweet Baby} Chloe ~ Montgomery, Alabama Newborn Photographer

About a week after I took maternity photos for Becky and Bobby, Becky began experiencing somewhat minor(ish) complications with her pregnancy.  Baby Chloe wasn’t due to arrive until the first part of April, but it was becoming more and more apparent that she would probably make her appearance a bit earlier than planned.

Then a week before Chloe’s scheduled arrival, Becky went to the doctor and didn’t come home again without her sweet baby in tow.

I am so excited to be able to share Chloe with you, now.

Be still, my heart….

I called it…Becky and Bobby are great parents.  They were so calm and casual…I could tell they love Chloe so much. When I go for newborn photo sessions, there is never any knowing how the baby will do.  Some babies stay pretty groggy and sleepy.  Others just will. not. sleep.  Others wake up and need some food a few times. I just never know and it’s one of the things that makes a newborn photo session so much fun for me.  Capturing the baby in the moments I am present.  In this case, Chloe slept the. entire. time.  She was zonked when I arrived and woke up at the very end, just before I left.

In this photo, she looks JUST like her mom.

She may have her mama’s nose and mouth, but Becky says that Chloe has her daddy’s long fingers.

And – again – be still, my heart.  She sucks her fingers.  (I have 2 finger/thumb suckers, myself, so I have a special affinity for babies who also do this:))

Becky and Bobby visited Italy not too long ago and purchased the most beautiful custom-made baby blanket that is sure to become a family heirloom piece.  We were sure to get some photos of Chloe in her special blanket.

And this headband.  I take back my previous comment about Chloe sleeping the entire time…as I’m looking through these photos, I remember – she did not care for the headband one bit….and made sure that we understood that fact. :)

I got a few photos of not-upset-Chloe-with-the-headband-on and then she got upset with us.  Once we took it off, she went right back to sleep again.  Like magic.:)

She’s not picky about which finger she sucks just yet.:)

There are her little eyes! <3

Becky and Bobby, I can’t tell you just how much I loved getting to see you again…this time, with Chloe in the world.  She is precious and beautiful and I hope you enjoy these photos as much as I do!  Thanks again for allowing me to share in this time with your newly formed family!  <3

{With Child} Becky & Bobby ~ Montgomery, Alabama Maternity Photographer

I love maternity sessions.

I love all maternity sessions…but the first-child sessions are always so much fun to me.  I think it’s because a family is getting ready to expand beyond just husband and wife.  It’s a marvelous, anxious, and overall exciting time in the life of a couple.

Becky and Bobby are a super fun couple…they’ve been together for many years and are going to be awesome parents.

I actually know Becky from a previous life when we worked together… since that time, she has experienced a lot of life changing events.

She got married to a great guy.  Together, they experienced great upheaval in their life together…and they are now quite happily expecting that newest addition to their family!!

Baby Chloe is going to be the very luckiest little baby girl ever.

Becky is absolutely radiant…

…and I love how much Bobby’s love for her shows. And now, I’m going to hush so that you can enjoy this special couple as they prepare to welcome their sweet baby girl in just a few short weeks.

{Sweet Family} The G Family ~ Montgomery, Alabama Family Photographer

Last week, I had the awesome opportunity to meet the G Family – and I had the very best time!! I mean, really, the best time.

Bobby and Courtney are such a sweet couple…

…and they are blessed with some seriously cute (funny, sweet, smart, kind-hearted) boys.

As a mama of boys, you know I was taken with this foursome. I couldn’t get enough of them. And you know what?  I think I’m just going to let the photos mostly speak for themselves.  I hope you enjoy this precious family as much as I did!!

This little guy was all over the place…wanting to munch on pine straw, leaves, and whatever else he came across.  Of course, his parents drew the line at rocks and such.:)

And he was a sucker for his daddy.

Mama love. <3

The boys were “taking a break” while I took a few other shots.  I looked over and this is what I saw.  Nothing like an Alabama fireant bed to garner the attention of little boys!

I think it’s pretty safe to say that Gavin didn’t care for laying down on the pokey straw.

As much crawling around on the straw that I did…I realized, once I got in my car to leave, that I was scratched up pretty good.  I can only hope the boys didn’t get too many scratches – pasture is beautiful, but it’s not always so comfortable!  They were good sports, though.:)

Courtney and Bobby, thank you SO much for giving me the opportunity to meet your family and capture you in {this} moment in time!  I loved meeting you and hope you enjoy looking at these photos as much as I enjoyed taking them!!

{I Do} Christopher and Mary Margaret ~ Montgomery, Alabama Wedding Photographer

Once upon a time, there was a very beautiful girl.

who met a handsome boy.

They met at work and got to know each other…

…and decided they liked each other.

In fact, in no time, they were in love and decided they wanted to get married.

So that’s what they did.

They decided on a small, intimate affair, surrounded by those who love them most.

Within 2 months, a dress was carefully chosen…a suit purchased.

The church was reserved, flowers ordered, and caterer scheduled.  All in record time.

The boy and the girl…they were happy to let their families take care of the small details.  But more than that, they were happy that they would be starting their life together.

No detail was left unattended to.  From the beautiful church to the elegant stem wrap ~ made from the girl’s mother’s wedding dress and the pendant with the girl’s grandmother’s photo enclosed.

The weather on their wedding day was a dark and dreary…

…but the love between the boy and the girl was the only sunshine really needed…

…for they had found each other.

The church was ready to go…

…and so were they.  The moment they had both been waiting for had finally arrived.

The boy was dashing.

The girl was positively radiant.

And as they said, “I do,” they were totally happy.

“Since the invention of the kiss there have been five six kisses that were rated the most passionate, the most pure….

…This one left them all behind.”

Their rings bear special meaning, too.  The girl’s engagement ring belonged to the boy’s mother and the boy’s wedding ring belonged to the grandfather who had died before he had been born but about whom the boy but had always been told would’ve simply loved him and his siblings.

Following the wedding, the boy and girl celebrated with family and friends.

They ate the most delicious food.

And had chosen the most lovely {and divine} cakes to serve their guests.

Under the tent outside was a band.

The girl danced with her father…

…the boy danced with the girl…

…other fathers danced with their daughters…

…some children didn’t dance at all, but located the most interesting things to play with.

Friends celebrated.

Kids danced.

And snuggled.

The boy danced with his grandmother.

And the kids danced some more.  And more.  And they began learning the bad habit of heckling the band with requests.

For a final dance, the boy’s sister sang a song.

And then it was time to leave.

Showered with rose petals, the boy and the girl made their way to their car…where they were off to spend the rest of their life together.

Happily ever after.

The end.

Or rather…the beginning.
