    Hi there...I'm so glad you stopped by! I'm Melissa...I am a photographer based in Montgomery, Alabama...and this is my blog-site.  It's not a blog...it's not a website...it's both!  Here, you will find a collection of just about everyone and everything I photograph, as well as information about my photography services.

    In short, I specialize in family life photography - from babies to great grandparents...and everyone in between!  I have family all over Alabama - and for this reason...if you would like me to be your photographer, and we can combine a visit with family, I will travel to you without additional cost.

    While you're here, enjoy the images you see - I hope they make you smile.  Leave a comment or shoot me an email...I look forward to hearing from you!

{Family Session: the C’s}

I’d love for you to meet the C family. They are SUCH a sweet family, and incidentally, our boys have the very same (quite unusual) name! We took photos on a hot & humid day, and were dodging a bit of rain, but I really enjoyed hanging out with them! Their little boy is precious…and has such a great personality (it’s always fun to take photographs of kids who have silly personalities)! I think you’ll agree – just by looking at these pictures, you can tell what a happy dynamic this family has. So without further ado….

Enjoy!

Becky - LOVE the pictures! Oh how I wish my family had actually been there so you could have taken pics of us! Absolutely love the one of just I and his mommy and daddy’s hands. Great job, as always!July 30, 2010 – 7:29 am

{Family Session!}

Wow, I’ve been so busy lately, in all areas of my life! Blogging has (obviously) taken a back seat, but I’m hopeful that the next couple weeks will be a good opportunity to play “catch-up!”

So without further ado, I’d love to let you meet Carl & Traci.  Carl & my husband are in the Air National Guard together and they go many years back…and though we don’t live in the same town, we do enjoy opportunities to hang out with them!

They have one little boy, B, who is precious and absolutely hilarious!

And on this particular day, our goal was to get some family pictures for Carl & Tracie, Carl’s dad, and Carl’s sister’s family. Naturally, the only time our schedules really meshed was when it was blazing hot and…wouldn’t you know…right in the middle of naptime!

Heat and naptime are typically not to be reckoned with, but in this case, there wasn’t a lot we could do about it, and despite those 2 challenges, we got some fun pictures! Here are B’s cousins:

They’re just a family with very pretty children! I’m sure Carl’s dad has to be one proud grandpa!!

This photo is not a technically great photo, but I had to share it, anyway, because…well, it just illustrates the life of a grandfather.  The children were naturally WAY more interested in the rocks than they were in my camera, so we just went with it!

Little B LOVED the trees.

By “loved,” I mean he LOVED them.  He wanted to sit in them, swing from the branches, and I’m pretty sure that he would’ve been perfectly content if we had left him to play in the trees all afternoon.

See?

Sweet family!

And another sweet family!

A tired little B…

A sweet father/son moment…

And a very tired father/daughter moment…

And now? The end! Thank you, to all of you for hanging with me on that h.o.t., tiring day!

Larry Benefield - Hi Melissa,

The photo’s are great and you are a very good photographer. How do I see the rest of the photo’s?

God blessed

{Sweet, Sweet Baby…Nathaniel}

Do you remember, a couple months ago, when I photographed this beautiful couple?

Well…a month ago, their precious baby made his debut into the world, and I got the awesome opportunity to photograph him. He was just over a week old at the time of our session, and was just as snuggly and precious as newborns come. He started out full, warm, and sleepy…which allowed for some great photos, and then he woke up and wouldn’t go back to sleep! It was as if he just didn’t want to miss anything, and I can’t say I blame him!

I want you to take a look at this sweet, snuggly baby.

And his feet.  How I love baby feet!

When he puts his arm up by his head, his mama said he was “assuming the position” – time for sleep!

And more that don’t even need words…

And oh, to have such sweet great-grandparents.  Every baby should be so fortunate!!  I just loved these folks…so sweet and patient.

This may be my favorite picture.  The great grandson with his great grandparents.  And he looks so happy to be snuggled right with them!

I’ve mentioned how much I love to pair baby hands with adult hands.  The contrast is always so striking.

Andree’ is one proud and beautiful mama!

…with one beautiful (and sleepy) baby!

Congratulations, Andree’, Victor, and baby Nathaniel! I am looking forward to seeing you again soon!

{Sweet, Sweet Baby…Addie}

Just a few weeks ago, I photographed a very special family that was getting ready to welcome their newest addition to the family.  Well…a little more than 2 weeks after I took those photographs, baby Addie made her official appearance!  She was born on a Tuesday, and I actually photographed her on Saturday…at 4 days old, Addie is officially the youngest newborn I’ve photographed in-home!

I fully expected, since she was so young, that Addie would just sleep contentedly while I snapped photographs unbeknownst to her.  Ha!  That’s the problem with “expecting” something…things rarely work like one thinks they will.  This sweet baby slept for the first few minutes, and then she became alert and peered at me through her beautiful newborn eyes – the sleepy photos were overwith at that point!  But she really is beautiful, and I took all my expectations back out the front door and ended up with some really precious photos of a precious baby.

So with that, sit back, and enjoy some pure, baby goodness!

Mom - She is beautiful! Please tell Michele, “Congratulations!” from your mom and what precious little girls they have. I love the picture of Addie yawning. All the photos are wonderful…a real treasure!May 11, 2010 – 10:36 am
