John & Tessa

A few weekends ago, I took pictures of my brother, Johnathan, and his girlfriend, Tessa. I got the pictures edited, ready to post, and then…had trouble uploading them. Before I had time to work with them, I was off to Texas and…well…you can see how busy I’ve been with those pictures! So I’ve had a tiny bit of downtime, and got the pictures re-uploaded and wanted to share them.

They are such a fun, down-to-earth couple – And it was so fun to capture their personalities in photographs!

More Pictures from Texas!

I met another fantastic family when I was in Texas…Allison, Matt, and their 2 little guys, Max and Lane. I had SUCH a fun time photographing this family! Allison had warned me that Max was a ball of energy, and I wasn’t worried (remember? I have a 2 year old myself!). She was definitely right…between Iliya (my little one), Artem, and Max…I definitely have gained some useful experience with children who just don’t stop for a moment!

But you know? That’s the way I like it!

So here is a sneak peek of Allison & Matt’s pictures…again, I couldn’t choose just a couple!

Thanks for such a fun time at the park – I had a blast & hope you did, too!!

Susan & Randy

Susan & I met over 7 years ago on a message board designed for people trying to start a family in the traditional way (that’s the rose-colored way of saying an infertility message board 🙂 ). But we really got to know each other – and several other women – through our participation in a message board for military spouses (remember, this was way before blogs became popular). I guess you could say we were (and still are) an online version of Army Wives. 😉

Anyway, I won’t go way into detail…but Susan and I went through a lot to become moms. And as it turned out, neither of us achieved that goal in the traditional way. Last year, as we were finalizing Iliya’s adoption and bringing him home from Russia, Susan & her husband were setting out on their own adoption journey to eventually bring their little boy, Artem, home from Russia.

The path to parenthood has been a crazy, fun ride for both of us. And when she asked if I would be willing to take a break from “normal life” to come shoot their family pictures, I was honored and I jumped at the chance!! As I alluded to in my last post, I ended up shooting photos for three different families and absolutely had a blast! It was also a lot of fun to hang out with Susan, Randy, and Artem for a couple days. Artem is a precious little boy – so animated and really hilarious!

Here are the pictures from their photo shoot. I had so many to choose from…and I couldn’t just pick a couple to share with you.

So without any further ado, I present to you…Susan, Randy, and Artem:

Thanks again, Susan & Randy, for your hospitality and for lining up such great people to work with! 🙂

Wanda & Children

I’m in Texas right now, letting my boys have some “guy time” while I visit my friend, Susan & her family. I’m also on a mission to get some family pictures for Susan (and her husband, Randy), who recently brought their little guy home from Russia. More on them later… 🙂

Yesterday, I got to spend some time taking pictures of Wanda (one of Susan’s good friends) and her kids…we had a blast in the Texas heat & humidity! By the end of the evening, we were all dripping sweat, but it really was so much fun to meet this beautiful family and take some pictures for them.

Here is a sneak peek…

Cindi & Jake

One of my good friends, Cindi, and I took our boys to the park on Saturday to shoot some pictures. The weather was quite nice, and we had a lot of fun! I wanted to share a few of my favorite shots of Cindi & her son, Jake. I’ve not been through half of the photos (and as you can see, I’m playing around with some different looks)…but I wanted to share these before too much time passed!
