{Sweet Family} The G Family ~ Montgomery, Alabama Family Photographer

Last week, I had the awesome opportunity to meet the G Family – and I had the very best time!! I mean, really, the best time.

Bobby and Courtney are such a sweet couple…

…and they are blessed with some seriously cute (funny, sweet, smart, kind-hearted) boys.

As a mama of boys, you know I was taken with this foursome. I couldn’t get enough of them. And you know what?  I think I’m just going to let the photos mostly speak for themselves.  I hope you enjoy this precious family as much as I did!!

This little guy was all over the place…wanting to munch on pine straw, leaves, and whatever else he came across.  Of course, his parents drew the line at rocks and such. 🙂

And he was a sucker for his daddy.

Mama love. <3

The boys were “taking a break” while I took a few other shots.  I looked over and this is what I saw.  Nothing like an Alabama fireant bed to garner the attention of little boys!

I think it’s pretty safe to say that Gavin didn’t care for laying down on the pokey straw.

As much crawling around on the straw that I did…I realized, once I got in my car to leave, that I was scratched up pretty good.  I can only hope the boys didn’t get too many scratches – pasture is beautiful, but it’s not always so comfortable!  They were good sports, though. 🙂

Courtney and Bobby, thank you SO much for giving me the opportunity to meet your family and capture you in {this} moment in time!  I loved meeting you and hope you enjoy looking at these photos as much as I enjoyed taking them!!

{I Do} Christopher and Mary Margaret ~ Montgomery, Alabama Wedding Photographer

Once upon a time, there was a very beautiful girl.

who met a handsome boy.

They met at work and got to know each other…

…and decided they liked each other.

In fact, in no time, they were in love and decided they wanted to get married.

So that’s what they did.

They decided on a small, intimate affair, surrounded by those who love them most.

Within 2 months, a dress was carefully chosen…a suit purchased.

The church was reserved, flowers ordered, and caterer scheduled.  All in record time.

The boy and the girl…they were happy to let their families take care of the small details.  But more than that, they were happy that they would be starting their life together.

No detail was left unattended to.  From the beautiful church to the elegant stem wrap ~ made from the girl’s mother’s wedding dress and the pendant with the girl’s grandmother’s photo enclosed.

The weather on their wedding day was a dark and dreary…

…but the love between the boy and the girl was the only sunshine really needed…

…for they had found each other.

The church was ready to go…

…and so were they.  The moment they had both been waiting for had finally arrived.

The boy was dashing.

The girl was positively radiant.

And as they said, “I do,” they were totally happy.

“Since the invention of the kiss there have been five six kisses that were rated the most passionate, the most pure….

…This one left them all behind.”

Their rings bear special meaning, too.  The girl’s engagement ring belonged to the boy’s mother and the boy’s wedding ring belonged to the grandfather who had died before he had been born but about whom the boy but had always been told would’ve simply loved him and his siblings.

Following the wedding, the boy and girl celebrated with family and friends.

They ate the most delicious food.

And had chosen the most lovely {and divine} cakes to serve their guests.

Under the tent outside was a band.

The girl danced with her father…

…the boy danced with the girl…

…other fathers danced with their daughters…

…some children didn’t dance at all, but located the most interesting things to play with.

Friends celebrated.

Kids danced.

And snuggled.

The boy danced with his grandmother.

And the kids danced some more.  And more.  And they began learning the bad habit of heckling the band with requests.

For a final dance, the boy’s sister sang a song.

And then it was time to leave.

Showered with rose petals, the boy and the girl made their way to their car…where they were off to spend the rest of their life together.

Happily ever after.

The end.

Or rather…the beginning.

{I Will} Christopher and Mary Margaret ~ Montgomery, Alabama Engagement Photographer

I am so excited to share with you my brother, Christopher, and his beautiful fiancé, Mary Margaret.

As children, Christopher and I were great friends…as his older sister, I was probably a little too bossy for his taste but we spent much of our time playing in the backyard, fighting with each other, and generally doing things together.  As teenagers, before I went off to college, we hung out together – we had a lot of mutual friends, so it worked for us to be not only siblings..but friends, as well.  Although we’ve lived away from each other for the majority of our adult lives, we’ve remained close.

So, you can imagine my happiness when he texted me earlier this year to tell me that he was dating this girl…and maybe he’d bring her to meet us sometime!  We have SO enjoyed getting to know Mary Margaret over the past several months…she’s sweet, smart, beautiful, and the perfect match for Christopher.

And then, he called to say that they were engaged!

I am so excited that they have asked me to be their photographer.  In just a couple weeks, you will get to see their wedding photos…but for now, I wanted to share some of my favorite photos from their engagement session.  We picked a balmy December afternoon and had such a blast together.

And now, I’ll just hush and let you enjoy the photos of these 2 happy, lovely people who are set to begin their life together.

Guys, I’m so happy for you and am SO looking forward to your big day!  Love you both!

{Sweet Baby} Dane ~ Montgomery, Alabama Newborn Photographer

Meet baby Dane.  He is a super duper precious little guy…almost a whole month old!

He was so interested in me the entire time I photographed him.  No matter what we did, he would. not. fall. asleep.  Which is okay, because he has such a sweet little presence and I enjoyed the intensity of his gaze.  I guess it’s not every day that a newborn has a stranger in his face with a giant black camera. 🙂

I love this – already showing off his great big muscles!

Angie, Dane’s mama, is a first-time mom…adjusting to all the newness of having a baby.  But she is doing SO great…Dane is one very fortunate little baby!

Baby belly buttons.  Sigh.

And Dane and his dad, Danny, are gonna have a great relationship, too.  I can tell!  There’s almost nothing sweeter than the bond between a father and his son.

Thank you, Danny & Angie for sharing your firstborn with me!  He is an awfully special little guy and I’m SO looking forward to watching him grow!!

April Jo Beasley - Awe! He is so precious. Great job as always M!December 19, 2012 – 4:33 am
