{Sweet Senior + Sisters} Nalin, Jinny, & Ammaly ~ Montgomery, Alabama Senior Photographer

I want you to meet Nalin.  She was a senior last year and just graduated from high school earlier this month.  Since she never had formal senior photos made, we decided to go on a photo location safari and take a some photos to commemorate this exciting time in her life!

We weren’t 100% sure where we wanted to go, so she, I, and her 2 sisters hopped in the car and took off to wherever the road took us.  We were pretty sure that we’d know the right location when we found it – and that was true!  We actually found a couple different locations and had a lot of fun during this photo session.  These girls are hilarious – each by themselves, but when you get them together, the laughs never do end.  I’m telling you, I had the best time with them.

Now, when I say the laughs never ended?  I mean it.  It’s SO much fun to work with sisters who have such a fun, close relationship.  They seem to have no barriers, no sibling rivalry, and just enjoy each other totally.

Class of 2012 – congrats, Nalin!

Nalin, Jinny, Ammaly – y’all are beautiful girls – both inside and out…and I hope you enjoy these photos! xoxo

{Fun Family!} Sean, Ruth, & Kiddos ~ Montgomery, Alabama Family & Children Photographer

I want to share with you an awesome, energetic, and all-around-fun family…Sean & Ruth and their 2 cuties.

When Ruth contacted me to take 1 & 3 year old photos of their children (and a few family photos, too), she explained that their birthdays are mere days apart. This was a fun fact for me, because just days separate my own kids’ birthdays, too.

So here, we have Samantha, who is 3…

…and Rachel, who is 1.

Samantha was full of energy – she was more interested in playing and finding treasures than she was in taking family photos.  But that’s okay, because we got some, anyway.  And the fun thing about family photos when children are this young is that we usually end up with action photos that really capture where they are in that particular season of life.

And this season is a busy one for Ruth and Sean.  Probably only to get busier, when little Rachel gets steady on her feet. 🙂

Peek-a-boo!

I couldn’t get enough of these babies – they were so sweet, happy, and photogenic.

Sweet sisters. 🙂

Sean & Ruth…thank you so much for letting me into your precious family for just a little while.  I hope you enjoy looking at these photos as much as I enjoyed taking them!

Becky Warnke Mixon - As always… beautiful! 🙂 What a gorgeous family!June 22, 2012 – 3:59 am

{FUN Family!} Steve, Jane & Kiddos ~ Montgomery, Alabama Children & Family Photographer

I’ve known Steve, Jane, and their kids for a few years, now, and they never cease to bring a smile to my face.  Steve has a great, dry humor…Jane is always so sweet and bubbly….and each of their kids has been blessed with some seriously awesome personality.  I’m pretty sure some of that comes through in these photos – but they’re a happy little family that I always enjoy being around.  I’ve photographed the kids before, and was SO happy to finally get the entire family in front of the camera!

They’re beautiful…on the outside as well as the inside.

I know…if you read this blog fairly regularly, you know that it’s a common thing for me to say that each couple I photograph has such a special relationship.  It may sound like a cliche, but it’s true!  And I’ll admit…one of the most fun things about being a photographer is that I get to see some of that “specialness” come through.

And guess what?  I learned that TODAY is Jane and Steve’s 18th wedding anniversary!  Eighteen years!  Congratulations, guys!

And I think that they’d be the first to tell you that making it that long – and remaining happy – takes plenty of work.  But is totally worth it!

And they have these 3 great kids – Banks,

Mary Vander,

And Norton.

Just FYI – no eyes were enhanced during the making of this blog post.

But see?  The kids come by them with absolute honesty!

Their dog, Max, joined us for a few moments, and I’m pretty sure he enjoyed the extra attention – maybe even the camera – a little bit!

We were almost done with the photo session – when Norton decided to climb up on this tall pillar (that I’d JUST risked breaking my neck by climbing up & down) and turn it up a notch!

He’s got some moves, I tell ya!  We were all in stitches by the end of his performance – gotta love a kiddo who isn’t afraid to just let loose and be himself!

Thanks – Jane, Steve, Banks, MV, & Norton (and Max!) for taking time out of your schedule to hang out with me for a bit. I had SUCH a fun time, and I hope you did, too!

{Sweet Child} My Little Max ~ Montgomery, Alabama Children’s Photographer

Oh boy, I do love this kiddo.

This is Max…my younger son…the one who hasn’t decided (yet) that he hates it when my camera comes out. 🙂

See, he provides great practice for me, not only because he’s precious…but also because he has glasses. And for me, glasses + young kiddos can be a difficult combination.

With adults, it’s much easier to ask them to tilt their head {this way or that} in order to reduce the glare from glasses. But with kids, it’s more difficult…mostly because they’re always moving…and, if you don’t know by now, I really prefer to keep photo shoots more “fun” rather than “posed”.

And honestly, what could be more fun than reading a book?  I’m sure maybe you could think of something…but as for me and Max, we think there’s not a lot better than reading. 🙂

Well, at least for today, it was him reading and me photographing him reading.  I was good with that combination.

So we had a little photographing-with-glasses-on practice session today. It wasn’t perfect, but I have to say, I’m glad I can see his eyes more than the glare on the glass in front of his eyes.

And I just thought you’d like to see him, too. Because who wouldn’t?

Thanks, Max, for lending me your sweet, happy smile today…I love you, buddy!

Having had a 1- to 6-yr-old with glasses, I know how frustrating it is not to be able to get good pictures of your child. You did amazingly. You should share tips with other photographers. Also, his glasses are super-cute. I love those frames. They suit him well. His smile says everything. Thank you for making him so happy, Momma, Daddy, and Big Brother.June 15, 2012 – 6:11 am
